Student Life

Building relationships is an essential part of VCLA.

We are a family on mission. We believe we’re better together, so the VCLA experience is designed to build community in everything we do – from engaging in classroom discussions and retreats to serving alongside one another. There are six ways we create a unique and engaging college experience.

Discover VCLA

Check out this video to hear about VCLA from a few of our graduates!

Excursions

We take intentional time to visit and learn from people in the Valley Creek family who are carrying the hope of Jesus to their area of life (business, healthcare, education, family, church, technology, sports, arts and media, and government). We also build relationships with one another through team-building activities and participating in group activities like kayaking, escape rooms, and beach volleyball.

Retreats

As we discover more of God, He invites us to seek new ways to set our focus and attention on Him. One of the ways we do that is through retreats. Whether it’s surrounding ourselves with God’s creation or attending a conference, we find opportunities to embrace and create environments that help us grow throughout the year. We step away from the rhythms of life to get our hearts aligned with Jesus and each other.

Classroom

We learn how to engage with the world around us by looking at the grace, people, Word, Spirit, and mission of God. As we build the foundation that is our belief system and worldview, we’ll encourage one another to root ourselves in the truth about who we are, who God is, and what we’re created to do.

Mission Trips

We have the opportunity to put our faith into practice as we participate in local and international mission trips. We partner with and experience the power of the global church through leading and investing in mission opportunities both at home and abroad. We’re refreshed when we refresh others, and we love getting to experience this first hand!

Serving

We grow in our leadership by working together on projects, developing communication skills, and discipling the next generation. We’ll experience this culture of servanthood through different contexts in our church, in the community, and with other ministry partners around the world.

Staff Culture

Saying “yes” to VCLA gives us a front-row seat to engaging, observing, and being equipped by our staff family. We’ll worship at our staff chapels and attend our monthly staff meetings. We’ll serve with many of Valley Creek’s teams and be led and developed by our staff through small groups and one-on-one discipleship. This is a family, and our team is eager to invest, encourage, and pray for you during this season of your life!
